Australia’s share market, or the All Ordinaries (INDEXASX: XAO)(ASX: XAO), is down by 0.71% at lunch.
BlueScope Steel Limited (ASX: BSL) has risen by 1.18% this morning on news that USA President Donald Trump plans to impose a 25% tariff on foreign steel.
Gold miners Resolute Mining Limited (ASX: RSG), Saracen Mineral Holdings Limited (ASX: SAR) and St Barbara Ltd (ASX: SBM) are up 1.98%, 1.63% and 1.6% respectively on fears the steel tariff could start a trade war.
However, it’s not such good news for lithium miners Orocobre Limited (ASX: ORE) and Galaxy Resources Limited (ASX: GXY), they are down 4.56% and 4.5%.
Speedcast International Limited (ASX: SDA) is one of the biggest falls so far today, it has dropped by 4.15%.
Technology company Altium Limited (ASX: ALU) has dropped 3.55% today.
Building products company CSR Limited (ASX: CSR) has risen by 1.36% at lunch on no news.
Finally, telecommunications business Spark New Zealand Ltd (ASX: SPK) is up by 1% at lunch.
