BHP Is Weighing On the ALL ORDINARIES Index

Australia’s share market, or the All Ordinaries Index (INDEXASX: XAO)(ASX: XAO), is down by 0.59% at lunch.

Australia’s share market, or the All Ordinaries Index (INDEXASX: XAO)(ASX: XAO), is down by 0.59% at lunch. BHP Billiton Limited (ASX: BHP) is down by 2.39% at lunchtime, according to Google Finance.

ALS Limited (ASX: ALQ) is the best performer in the ASX200 today so far, it’s up 2.88%.

The Medical Developments International Ltd (ASX: MVP) share price is up 2.76% today after it emerged the Chairman had sold a lot of shares off market to overseas-based funds at $7.50.

The market wasn’t impressed by TPG Telecom Ltd‘s (ASX: TPM) profit report, it’s down by 2.81% today in response to the reported profit fall.

The lithium miners have suffered further falls today after reports that US company Albemarle and Chinese company Tianqi are under investigation by the ATO, according to an article in the AFR. Galaxy Resources Limited (ASX: GXY) is down 3.79%, Pilbara Minerals Ltd (ASX: PLS) is down 1.96% and Orocobre Limited (ASX: ORE) is down by 3.05% today.

It’s not a good day for some other Australian blue chips, Seek Limited (ASX: SEK) is down 3.25% and Crown Resorts Ltd (ASX: CWN) is down 3.34%.
