On Friday, London-listed shares of BHP Billiton Limited (ASX: BHP) and Rio Tinto Limited (ASX: RIO) finished 2.5% and 0.7% higher, respectively, according to Yahoo! Finance.

Making news in Australia, Telstra Corporation provided a market update today. Telstra reaffirmed its financial guidance range for its 2018 financial year but said its EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation) will be at the low end of the range. That is, around $10.1 billion.
During its most recent quarter, Telstra added 60,000 mobile customers and 36,000 home broadband subscribers.
Electricity and gas distribution business Ausnet Services Ltd (ASX: AST) released its yearly results to the ASX this morning showing a 1.5% increase in revenue and a profit of $291 million, up 14%. AusNet announced a final unfranked dividend of 4.62 cents per share.
Finally, engineering and facilities business Downer EDI Limited (ASX: DOW) announced it has been awarded a $150 million contract with Beryl Solar Farm in New South Wales.
“Large scale projects are critical to our regional communities and we are looking forward to partnering with First Solar to deliver the Beryl Solar Farm that will see significant economic and environmental benefits in regional New South Wales,” Downer CEO Grant Fenn said.
