The Afterpay Touch Group Ltd (ASX: APT) share price rose 4.6% today, making one of the strongest ASX 200 performers.
Afterpay Touch is the owner of the popular “buy now, pay later” app. As of early 2019, Afterpay had over 3.5 million registered users worldwide, making it one of Australia’s true technology success stories.
Afterpay’s Share Price Rises Again
There was no official news out of the leading buy now pay later business, but it was very close to beating its all-time high.
Today’s gains was likely due to the March 2019 quarter updates from its competitors of Splitit Ltd (ASX: SPT), its share price went up 25.4%, and Zip Co Ltd (ASX: Z1P) which saw a share price increase of 16.5%.
Investors are obviously hoping and expecting that Afterpay will also have had a solid March 2019 quarter after the company made several projections for its US growth at the time of release of the December 2018 half-year result.
