In ASX sharemarket news, Medibank Private Limited (ASX: MPL) has reported its FY19 result.
The private health insurer’s revenue grew by 2.9% to $6.66 billion. Operating profit from continuing operations rose by 1.9% to $528.5 million.
Net profit from continuing operations grew by 3.2% to $437.7 million. Medibank grew the dividend at the same pace, the Board increased the FY19 dividend by 3.1% to 13.1 cents per share.
Medibank expects flat overall growth of the private health insurance market and to stabilise Medibank brand volumes by FY20 and grow in FY21.

Qantas Airways Limited (ASX: QAN) has also released its FY19 result this morning to investors.
Underlying profit before tax fell by 17% to $1.3 billion and statutory profit before tax fell 6% to $1.27 billion.
However, Qantas did manage to achieve record revenue for the year with statutory profit/earnings per share flat on last year thanks to a share buy back.
Qantas CEO Alan Joyce said: “This result shows the strength of our individual businesses but also the strength of our portfolio as a whole. Even with headwinds like fuel costs and foreign exchange, we remain one of the best performing airline groups in the world.”

Webjet Limited (ASX: WEB) is another company to report its result this morning. It showed 27% growth of total transaction value (TTV) to $3.8 billion and revenue growth of 26% to $366.4 million.
Net profit after tax before acquisition amortisation (AA) increased by 46% to $81.3 million.
