We’re looking for someone with super video and audio editing skills, who has lots of positive energy, attention to detail, and creativity.

The Role

Are you a gun at editing digital media?

Do you make sure your peanut butter covers all of the toast?

Do you want to work with an easy-going, high energy, creative but technical team?

We’re looking for a junior audio and video editor to take up a six-month contract position, spread across two highly creative finance businesses. Both businesses have in-house design and art direction, plus management teams that are passionate about producing the highest quality interviews, live events, podcasts and educational material for a growing audience.

You will work with the design teams to edit audio and video files in Adobe software (and/or Final Cut Pro) for export. Then, you will upload high-quality recordings that will be viewed by thousands of people around the world. The position is based in our modern loft-style Melbourne CBD office in the heart of Flinders Lane. However, you will be able to work part-remote part-in office. In other words, it’s quite flexible.

You will edit and create high quality videos like this:

It’s a shorter-term contract position but if you’re passionate about what you do and love working with us there is scope for an ongoing role.

This will be a brilliant opportunity for a young or new professional who’s looking to advance his or her skills, work in an extremely creative team and potentially expand their role beyond editing (e.g. social media, user experience, events, etc.).

About the two businesses

You will:

  • Be a good person
  • Have high-level video and audio editing skills, especially using the Adobe software stack (Premiere, Audition, Creative Cloud, Photoshop, After Effects, etc.) and/or Final Cut Pro (even if you’re better at one than the other, still apply)
  • Excellent written communication (e.g. grammar, creativity and puns)
  • Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience (e.g. a portfolio) producing professional-grade creative works

Relevant qualifications could include:

  • Any study in digital media editing (i.e. TAFE, uni, etc.)
  • Graphic design & marketing
  • Business/commerce plus a creative discipline

Highly desirable:

  • Production experience (e.g. filming and recording)
  • Expert-level audio editing (e.g. podcasts, live events, etc.)
  • Passion for investing and/or willingness to help the world learn about finance

To apply for this exciting role, please email us a 200-300 word cover letter using the Contact Page on Rask Australia. Tell us about yourself, why you wanted to apply and how your skillz match the description (tip: you might even include links to previous work).

Please select or use the subject line: “Job: I’m the next Steven Spielberg”
