Talking points with Stephen Arnold [part 1/2]

For those who haven’t listened to our discussions before, can you give us a bird’s eye view of how it is that you invest, and what you’re looking for? The world is a big place.

Since you started Aoris, a lot has happened. One of the big changes was Covid. Looking back on it now, what were some lessons learned? And perhaps lessons others can take forward?

Someone looking from the outside might say the Aoris fund is extremely concentrated, yet over the past year, the fund has outperformed MSCI by nearly 6%. This is a period of extreme volatility. How has this happened, when traditional beliefs around diversification say this shouldn’t happen?

This is one of a two-part series on global investing. In today’s discussion I’ve wanted to bring a company to life, and step through it with you. Perhaps Costco?

Aoris has taken the step to launch a listed active managed fund on the ASX. Why?

Final question, why do you think it’s important to focus on business fundamentals over forecasts?

Part 2/2 will air on Wednesday, May 3rd, on The Australian Investors Podcast.
