IVV & VGS? Which is better? You couldn’t decide. So we’re here to help. In today’s episode, Kate Campbell and Owen Rask are taking a deep dive into two popular ETFs which help investors diversify globally.
This episode of The Australian Finance Podcast features a review of the Vanguard MSCI Index International Shares ETF (ASX: VGS) & the iShares S&P 500 ETF (ASX: IVV). We take a look at the holdings, fees, any overlap between the ETFs and how they could fit into your portfolio.
The Vanguard VGS ETF provides exposure to listed companies from developed markets around the world, excluding Australia. This ETF is not hedged so it is exposed to currency fluctuations. Think Apple, Microsoft, Amazon & Exxon Mobil.
The iShares IVV ETF provides investors with exposure to the largest 500 US stocks, by market capitalisation. This is a low-cost way to access leading US companies through a single fund. Think: Apple, Microsoft, NVIDIA & GOOGL.
