RBA interest rates predicted to be predicted

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), the thing that 99.99% of people don't understand, including finance graduates, is relishing its stardom following the recent RBA interest rate rise.

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), the thing that 99.99% of people don’t understand, including finance graduates, is relishing its stardom following the recent RBA interest rate rise.

According to Fin Review reporting, traffic to interest rate and property price predictions made by columnists who do something else in their 9-to-5 has exploded in 2023.

“If you can make a prediction about something based on a mathematical model that you don’t really understand, but confuses everybody else just a little bit more, and write sexy headlines, you will get free speaking slots at financial events,” says Head of Joy Clickbait Analytics, Geraldine Coolio, CFA, ESQ.

Coolio told this column, via a Twitter spaces, that if enough predictions are made, eventually one will be correct. Just ask venture capitalists.

“It’s now common practice for fund managers to make as many interest rate and property predictions as possible, to create a catalogue.”

“Importantly, however, you must only include the predictions you got right on your website’s ‘about us’.”

Coolio went on to that say that this strategy ensures you are at the pinnacle of your game.

“It’s a well-established principle that while people will forget what you said, or what you did, they don’t forget how you make them feel. So why not jump on Australia’s biggest financial website, say some crazy shit about the biggest financial asset, and make them feel horrible?”

More to come.

P.S. the report below is actually real and wasn’t written by a koala.

This is a satirical column… but is there some truth to it?
