Is offshoring from Australia really worth it for small businesses?
Having never done this, I recently considered it — 5+ years after starting Rask. As I write this, I’m in the final stages of going through this process and will report back after a few months.
However, my co-hosts Jordan and Danil have been offshoring some roles since day one and can’t speak highly enough of it.
Offshoring is the process of basing some of your business’s processes, services or team overseas, to take advantage of lower costs or better access to in-demand skills.
After all, if you can (and you can) get a full-time and degree-qualified remote workers (often with experience), why wouldn’t you consider it?
I’ve heard of and spoken with many business owners who say something like “off-shoring creates Australian jobs by massively increasing your profits and helping you scale”.
So regardless of your beliefs, I feel like every business should consider it.
So, on The Australian Business Podcast this week (don’t forget, we go live twice a week), I — Owen Rask — catch up with my co-hosts Danil Goloubev and Jordan Kidis about:
- How to offshore
- What you can offshore
- What to watch out for when you offshore
- Risks of offshore
- Jobs that should be offshored
