Steven Mabb is the Chair of the Australian Shareholders Association (ASA) and recently joined Owen Rask to discuss his journey to investing, which came from co-owning and scaling a very successful US shoe company.
Steven’s journey is entrepreneurial, through his time scaling Vionic Group; enterprising, realising he had to invest in the share market to provide for his family’s future; and built on accountability, since as Chair of the ASA he has direct corporate governance responsibilities.
Thanks to Rask & ASA’s partnership, you can join ASA for free (until July 31 2024) simply by being a loyal listener of Rask podcasts. Don’t delay – it’s completely free this month!

About Steven Mabb
Steven was appointed to the ASA board on 16 June 2020 and is a member of the Education Committee, the Remuneration & Nominations Committee and the Finance, Risk & Audit Committee. A successful entrepreneur, in 2007 he helped develop and launch the Vionic footwear brand with his business partners in the U.S., which went on to become a top 20 brand and was subsequently sold to a large U.S. listed company in 2018. He then returned to Queensland with his young family to become a full time, committed investor and quickly joined the ASA after discovering the many benefits it could offer.
