In this Australian Property Podcast episode, your hosts Amy Lunardi and Pete Wargent answer your most pressing property questions.
Questions Answered:
1. Angus Young I’m looking at buying a townhouse and a lot of them I’ve been inspecting are brand new – should I bother with a building inspection? Doesn’t insurance cover any defects anyway?
2. Kate Bush I almost feel like giving up. I’ve been trying to buy a home for the last 11 months and feel like I’m getting nowhere. I have a decent budget but now I’m feeling even more disheartened as I’ve noticed the market has gone up recently and there’s even more competition.
3. Igor I wanted to ask why Pete blocked me on Twitter. (Igordownunder username). I don’t believe I offended him but apologies if any comment was poorly perceived
4. Marge Simpson What’s the risk of my real estate agent acting as a dual agent for me as a seller & then acting for my buyer also?
5. Ben Hi Guys, I am now in a position where I am wanting to get an investment property to start my portfolio, I am wanting to do this to create equity to help buy our forever home as well as creating a future for our family. I am looking at 5-10 year strategy for creating compound growth. I would need to get a mortgage if we were to do this as a buy to let. I also have the opportunity to co invest with my partners mum who wants to do something with her cash. This would mean the ability not to have to get a mortgage. My concern is that I would be losing out on the compound growth in the years to come as she would obviously need a return too.
