For my own portfolio, I like to find ASX shares that are growing their dividends. Growth is an essential part of the dividend equation for me. I want to see that the dividend increases are funded by growing earnings and/or growing underlying asset values. I also have a portion of my portfolio invested in an ETF that picks undervalued global businesses with strong competitive advantages.
For Rask Media, I have an interest in covering technology (and tech-related) businesses with a global growth story, as well as cyclical companies that are cheaply priced because they’re at a low point in the cycle, such as retailers and resource businesses which could benefit strongly in the medium-term.

The Adairs Ltd (ASX:ADH) share price is down around 5% after the homewares retailer announced its FY22 result and gave FY23 guidance.

The EML Payments Ltd (ASX:EML) share price has jumped more than 12% after the company announced its FY22 result.

The Fortescue Metals Group Limited (ASX:FMG) share price is down 1% after the iron ore miner’s African news about the Gabon project.

The TPG Telecom Ltd (ASX:TPG) share price just dropped 11% after it released its FY22 half-year result which showed dividend growth.

The Cochlear Limited (ASX:COH) share price is under the spotlight as the hearing device business announced its FY22 result.

I think that reporting reason can be a catalyst to go hunting for ASX shares. August is a good month to go looking for opportunities.

The Transurban Group (ASX:TCL) share price is suffering today. It’s down 4% after reporting its FY22 result.

The Pro Medicus Ltd (ASX:PME) share price is down after the company reported strong growth in FY22 and a good outlook for FY23.
