I – Owen Rask – am so excited to introduce you to The Australian Retirement Podcast. I believe The Australian Retirement Podcast will become Australia’s most trusted and enjoyable finance podcast for retirees.

Every year, over 100,000 Australians retire. This is when we make the biggest financial step in our financial lives.

For many of us, it feels like stepping off into the unknown…

“With no salary, have I done enough to survive and live the life I want?”

“Will my nest egg provide the passive income I need to support my family?”

“What will life look like without the purpose of work?”

“How can I maintain my social life?”

“But I don’t like golf…”

The list goes on…

This is why our team at Rask came together with James O’Reilly at Northeast Wealth, and Drew Meredith and Jamie Nemtsas from Wattle Partners, to bring you a resource you can trust.

Wattle Partners and Northeast have been mine, and the Rask community’s, trusted voice for retirees for years. So I’m thrilled to have James and Drew step up to the plate and help our retirees smack it out of the park.

Over the next 10 weeks, we’ll bring you one Australian Retirement Podcast episode per week – every Thursday arvo – before jumping into raw Q&A episodes, real-life case studies, hear from experts in lifestyle design and behavioural psychology, investing, and so much more.

If you like the show, subscribe on Spotify, Apple or YouTube, and tell us why. If you want to be part of it. I want to hear from you.

You can get in contact with me, James and Drew by using this link and selecting The Australian Retirement Podcast. You can also join the daily discussion in the Rask Community (it’s free).

Below, you will find episode #1, in which Drew and James explain the show, what to expect, why they’re passionate about retirement advice, and have a bit of fun.

Cheers!

Owen Rask

Meet your expert hosts – James & Drew

James O’Reilly is a qualified financial adviser, founder of Northeast Wealth, and co-host of the Australian Retirement Podcast.

Northeast is a fast-growing financial planning firm that’s helping create a new era in advice. James embarked on a career in financial advice in his early 20s, gaining experience in small practices and large institutions alike.

These experiences led him to conclude that financial advice is too often focused on product distribution, rather than supporting people to make meaningful financial progress. He started my own financial advice business shortly afterward, and hasn’t looked back since.
